Sheltering Wings and Gremlin Bells
Before a ride, I recite the words of תפילת הדרך, the Traveler’s Prayer. Other times, I say the words of Hashkiveinu, asking for safety beneath Kanfei Adonai, God’s sheltering wings.
This morning, I take on an age old ritual. A biker tradition. I hang a Gremlin Bell from the lowest point on the motorcycle frame. The bell wards off evil, keeping the rider safe.
… the One who gives us life, sustains us, and brings us to this moment in time.
Together, give me an Amen!
