Allow me to tell you a little bit of my story. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1991, I graduated from High School—a Marianist all boys, Catholic School. Yes, I am Jewish, and have always been Jewish; I am a rabbi. I was not always a rabbi, however.

Stephen Bovasso… Steve. The last opportunity I had to spend real time with Steve was during dinner, last New Year’s Eve. Less than fifteen weeks ago. Upon making eye contact, as anyone would, I asked: How are you? A very real question, to a man whose life’s vibrancy was fading. I expected a very real answer, to which he responded with a huge grin: I’m fine.
